[it's been a few months since she had come here and yet it still surprises her every time someone says something like this. it surprises her how it is possible that someone enjoys her company. being trapped so long in one place, with only one person to talk to that didn't seem to want her company at all; this never stops being new.

it always feels like the hard part is not acting like such a simple compliment doesn't mean the world to her.
